This historic town is a collection of authentic buildings dating back from the 1840s through to the 1930s.
The site covers 8 acres and features several National Trust classified buildings and one of the best collections of horse-drawn vehicles and farm equipment in Australia. It also includes the Dr Andrew’s (the ’father’ of Yallourn) collection and the Narracan Mechanics’ Institute library.
Browse through the main street shops and soak up the atmosphere of Gippsland’s past. Visit the 35 original relocated buildings and their collections such as “Bushy Park” homestead and “Rhoden’s Halfway House” one of the few remaining Cobb & Co. inns in existence.
Displays in the locations are of their era, with a wide range of antique furniture and artefacts. There are also 10 other purpose-built buildings to complete the town.
Old Gippstown’s aim is to present the history of Gippsland for the benefit of the present and future generations by preserving, researching, recording and presenting the unique collections in its care

If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

We were able to call Hunter House home for nearly six weeks while our own house undergoes repairs. The house was amazing and very comfortable, incredibly clean, in a great location and had everything we could need! Communication was fantastic and Serena was so very kind, caring and helpful throughout our entire stay! Thank you again

Home away from home
Our team was doing some construction work and stayed the week at Serena’s place - they didn’t want to come home!
Angela
They felt very well cared for in this home away from home. There were great supplies, nice and comfortable beds and lots of room for parking.
We will definitely stay again if in the area again and highly recommend to others.

Woderful hosts
Serena’s property Hunters House is a perfect house for families, couples or business travellers, as it’s like a home away from home. Comfortable beds, couches including all the modern features you expect in today’s life style. Communication & access was very easy. Hunters House is well located for visiting the sights & attractions within the beautiful Latrobe Valley. Highly recommended.

A special thank you to Serena & her husband for their condolences & assistance during our stay as we were staying there for my father’s funeral.
